Farm in Winter

Farm in Winter, 7.5″ x 5.5″ (19cm x 14cm), $75.

Happy New Year! I’m starting off 2017 the right way with a new painting! Hopefully my inspiration and enthusiasm will prove to be a continuing trend this year. At the very least, I hope to paint more winter scenes. Therefore, I already have a couple more paintings sketched out, ready for me to work on them. In fact, I may manage to finish one later today, unless I get distracted. 🙂

I haven’t done many winter scenes, so I thought that this would be an appropriate way to start off the year. It turned out fairly well. I did this painting mainly with my squirrel brushes, which have been working much better than my new sable brushes. I’m hoping for a post-Holiday sale on Tajmyr sables, since I would really like to try them. I really need a good workhorse round brush to paint the way I want to.

Tell me what you think!
